New York Yearly Meeting is a member of the New York State Council of Churches -- when we join with others in advocacy, our voice is amplified!  The NYS Council of Churches looks beyond the headlines, a kind of NYS-focused Friends Council on National Legislation -- but they also pay attention to national issues.  I am delighted to be able to support and tap into their expertise.  Here's a recent effort, a commentary in the Albany Times Union, written by Peter Cook and Abby J. Quaker Earthcare Witness Worship Sharing

This is a special time each month where Friends across many time zones gather to connect and deepen our connection with Creation and Spirit. Our hope is that we will create a sacred space and encounter in each other in “that which is eternal.” Please join us! All are welcome!

Together we are creating more opportunities for Friends to be in spiritual community with one another. We'll be gathering Fourth Tuesdays of the month from 7:00 - 8:15 PM Eastern. In worship sharing, we gather in small groups to focus on a particular question (or questions) to explore our own experience experience and share with each other more deeply than we would in normal conversation. It seeks to draw us into sacred space, where we can take down our usual defenses, and encounter each other in “that which is eternal.” We welcome all to join us!
